The Barrel Cannon is a ranged weapon arm for the Ridepod in Dark Chronicle. It is one of the few available for purchase, but like all Ridepod parts, the Barrel Cannon and its later variants can be invented. Each Barrel Cannon is a horizontally positioned wooden barrel, with the top end facing forwards, sprouting the gun barrel, with on the rear a large sack. The Barrel Cannon is the earliest available ranged Ridepod weapon, and subsequently, it and the later versions are among the weakest. Regardless, all Barrel Cannons focus on Exorcism, making them effective against Undead.
The first Barrel Cannon part becomes available for inventing early on in Chapter 2 for only 400 EXP from Cedric, with the respective versions II, III and IV being available in chapters 3, 4 and 5. Although early on the ranged capabilities can prove helpful, the Ridepod cannot block using them, nor will they make enemies stagger or be knocked down. Its projectiles are somewhat accurate, as they have a slight homing effect, but are relatively slow, it also has low WHP.
