A Golem is a type of enemy in the Dark Cloud series. It is a large, slow moving stone creature, usually with a large amount of hit points and defense. In Dark Cloud, it is first encountered at the Sun & Moon Temple. In Dark Chronicle, it is first encountered at Starlight Canyon.
There are different types, or variations, of Golems (i.e. Rock, Metal, etc.). Two variations, Sil and Gol, appear as bosses on the 9th floor of the Sun & Moon Temple, and then later as normal enemies in the Demon Shaft. The design of the Titan in Dark Cloud was later adopted as the design for the Golem in Dark Chronicle.

Dark Cloud[]
Strategy[]
Golems are very strong, very slow, and can take several hits before going down. Combos do not interrupt their attacks, so it's best to use a hit-and-run strategy to avoid being hit. Goro is particularly good at dealing with Golems, simply attack when the Golem prepares a ground strike, and retreat to avoid being hit.
Some variations of Golems have elemental weaknesses, such as the Steel Giant's weakness to Thunder. Repair Powder can be stolen from Golems, which makes up for losing WHp during the fight.

Dark Chronicle[]
Strategy[]
Although very slow, Golems can take a massive amount of punishment, and have piercing attacks. Their attacks are very slow, so a hit-and-run strategy is applicable. They are easily dealt with if the player uses the Ridepod armed with a ranged weapon, or Max's/Monica's ranged weapon if a very high smash stat is added. For Item only stages, bombs work very well as Golems cannot be poisoned.

Trivia[]
- The scoop "Hooray for Rock Man!" can be taken when the Golem raises up its arms to crush the player. Although, the player must be quick and have near full health just in case the monster manages to score a hit.
- At the launch of Paznos, an army of Golems, created when Griffon destroyed a mountain, was easily taken out by the mobile fortress.
