The Goyone, also known as Gyon, is a monster that is encountered in both Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle. It's a somewhat large fish which wields a spear in one of its hands. Its palette-swaps will appear in later dungeons.

Battle Tactics[]
Dark Cloud[]
Gyon has 2 attacks; the first is a short-range jab with his spear, the second is a long charge with the spear pointed at the player. As Gyon only charges in one direction, it is easy to evade this attack and damage him from behind.
Space Gyon has a similar attack style to Gyon, however his long charge will track the player, which makes this attack harder to counter than his watery counterpart's. The easiest way to defeat Space Gyon is positioning your strongest ranged fighter just outside of his charge radius and spamming away.
Dark Cloud 2[]
This monster is really easy to fight, but it's quite fast on its "feet". It can rush the player, its spear pointed at him, which will cause damage if the player doesn't block. To counter this, just proceed like you do with the rolling turtles: fire at it with Max's Guns, prepare a Charge Attack and release it when the Goyone is enough close. Then normally fight it, by using melee weapons. The Goyone and its variations can also spit goo that can cause abnormal statuses. You can safely block, as this attack is slow, and then counterattack.
