The Samurai Arm is a melee weapon arm for the Ridepod in Dark Chronicle. It is one of the few available for purchase, but like all Ridepod parts, the Samurai Arm and its later variants can be invented. The Samurai Arm's melee combo is similar to that of the other melee weapons, starting with a swing of the right sword, followed by the left sword, and finishing with a spin attack to strike anything in front. Each attack covers an arc, dealing damage to anything within range, with the finisher sporting the most of it.
The Samurai arms are the fastest melee weapon available, and also the only type that holds a specific weapon rather than merging it into the arms, giving it some slight additional range. As a small downside, it runs out of WHP faster than average. All Samurai Arms also sport an additional fifty Lightning, Beast and Scale stats, instead of the usual Smash for melee weapons.
The base Samurai Arm can be bought from Cedric in Chapter 4 for 1,100 EXP, at which point it likely outclasses all other options. Each arm part can also be invented and built in respectively chapters 3, 5, 7 and 8, although each version is generally superior than any equivalent alternative melee arm part. Especially the very expensive Samurai Arm IV, costing slightly over 60,000 Gilda (though most of that comes from the double Diamond requirement), is the most powerful weapon in the game, at over 1800 base Attack. However, it is only available halfway through Chapter 8 and requires two very rare scoops to be invented, namely Flotsam Revived! and Legend of the Moon.
